This paper discusses using basic utility data that is readily available from utility bills to focus targeted retrocommissioning efforts. It also discusses how to use this information to spot emerging problems related to how the building is using energy. This sort of analysis can be done using relatively simple techniques such as a hand calculation or a spreadsheet and is the type of thing that any facility engineer or operator could handle and would be interested in. Techniques are also discussed which allow the data to be further refined to target specific energy uses.en
