The local unemployment rate remained constant at 3.3% in March 2023 compared to its February value. March’s local nonfarm employment decreased by 0.2% from February. Inflation-adjusted taxable sales were down by 0.3% from February 2023 to March 2023. State government employment, primarily Texas A&M University, typically declines about 13% between the spring and summer months each year.en
