dc.description.abstract | The oil and gas business requires gas compression for a number of distinctly different applications, such as transmission, storage, gas gathering and export compression, enhanced oil recovery, recycle compression and refrigeration, as well as various compressionduties in refineries This paper explains the purpose of and requirements for these applications within the context of oil and gasproduction, the transport of natural gas in pipelines and by LNG, and the use of hydrocarbons in downstream facilities Typicaloperating requirements for the gas compressors, and typical solutions to meet these requirements are introduced This includesdiscussions of process behaviors, dynamic behavior, and how to handle long and short term process changes | |
