Effect of swirl canceller on impeller exitation
Abstract
This case study is concerned with effect of the swirl canceller for impeller excitation force of integrally geared compressor. The 5th stage shaft vibration of booster air compressor showed abnormal behavior as the discharge pressure was increased. The compressor load could not be increased due to high shaft vibration. As a result of the frequency analysis of the shaft vibration, it was found that the vibration component around eigenvalue of the rotor was excited. This study shows the details of root cause investigation and preventive measures for increase of shaft vibration.
