    Abstract
    Three test campaigns conducted on high speed, high load, chromium-copper bearings are presented. The first bearing is a fixed-geometry, externally cooled pressure dam journal bearing. The second is a tilting pad journal bearing with bypass cooling, and the last is a thrust bearing. Simulations and test campaigns assess industrial 3D model simulation capability for future development of high speed, high load bearings. 3D CFD models are compared with 1D calculations showing the limitations of both modeling approaches versus test results.
