Precise and stable steam flow control to the Turbine directly relates to improved steam turbine speed and load control and reduced system mechanical wear. This paper presents a complete failure of a Governing valve seat which was experienced in Compressor Drive Steam Turbine. The Steam Turbine is a extraction turbine driving Ethylene Compressor in a #**Fertilizer plant with a power rating of 10 MW and normal operating speed of 9800 rpm. This presentation shows the detailed analysis results, possible causes of failure of governing system and solution employed to solve these problems.en
