dc.description.abstract | This thesis will look to comparatively analyze the main Taiwanese Presidential candidates’ policies, examine Taiwan’s past election patterns, and discuss the political and economic implications of the 2020 Taiwanese Presidential elections for Taiwan, China, and the United States. Taiwan’s disputed political status along with the current power competition between the United States and China provides an appropriate study to show how in an increasingly globalized world, elections don’t just affect the country itself, it can affect the global order and international relations. | en |
