Abstract
Cone A (picture 1) is an immature cordaitean cone containing no pollen. Cone B is a mature cone containing 13 golden corpolites that are composed of macerated pollen grains of Florinites.
Description
These images were used in the research for a master's thesis from the Texas A&M University Dept. of Geology and Geophysics (Date of submission: May 2020).Images were taken from slides on loan from the Harvard Paleobotanical Herbarium.
Cones A is an Immature cone.
Cone B is a Mature cone containing 13 golden coprolites.
Coprolites are composed of macerated pollen grains and are deposited in strings.
Mounted peels were made by William C. Darrah.
