dc.description.abstractAn écraseur is a surgical instrument containing a chain or wire loop that is used to encircle and sever a projecting mass of tissue by gradual tightening of the chain or loop. The tool is intended to replace the knife in many operations, the parts operated on being severed by the crushing effect produced by the gradual tightening of a chain to avoid hemorrhage. Also shown are other artifacts used in the care and treatment of animals.en
