Dr. Roy Belvin England (1925-2006) a Texas native from birth, entered the military after graduating High School in 1943. After release from active duty he attended Texas A&M and graduated with a B.S. degree in Agriculture in January of 1953. He was recalled to active military service during the Korean Conflict, in the Air Force Patrol Bomber Mariner squadron out of Japan. After his second release to inactive service in 1955, he and his father-in-law raised registered polled Hereford cattle on the Gill Ranch at Whon, Texas. He worked three years as a County Agent in Knox County, Texas. In 1964, he entered Veterinary School at Texas A&M University. He received his DVM in 1967 and joined the faculty of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery where he did research and teaching. He was a retired Professor Emeritus by 1984. Dr. England, age 81, of Bryan, Texas died on October 11, 2006.
