dc.description.abstractProfessor Watkins received his BS in Veterinary Science in 1978 and his DVM from Kansas State University in 1980. Later in 1984 he completed his MS at Texas A&M University. As of 2017 he is part of the Equine Orthopedics team at the Large Animal Hospital. His scholarly interests include equine fracture management, intramedullary interlocking nail fixation, fracture biomechanics, biomaterials, implant design and testing, arthrodesis techniques, management of infection, and orthopedic applications of stem cell therapy.en
