dc.description.abstractWe give an experimental method for calculating the central values of elliptic curve L-functions. We begin by providing some theoretical analysis of the method, and show that, on average, with appropriate choice of parameters, it can be expected to work well. In addition, we provide some data on elliptic curve L-functions of large conductor that support this method.
