Control Of Backflow At The Inlets Of Centrifugal Pumps And Inducers
Abstract
Cavitation surge or the interaction of backflow from the inlet of a centrifugal pump or inducer at low flow and low NPSH can be eliminated by the use of backflow recirculator. Experimental results from four pumps demonstrate that this device, which has no moving parts, completely stabilized pump operation at all flows from BEP to shut-off.
