The application of fan equipment covers a wide range in today's market and requires that attention be given to factors which were not a consideration in the past. The high costs of energy, installation, replacement parts, and loss of production, force the engineer to carry out a more detailed examination of the process and the equipment offered to ensure that optimum efficiency, reliability, maintainability, and quality are designed into the product. With the use of sophisticated computer analysis for aerodynamic flow and stressing, and the availability of a wide range of structural materials, the fan designer is able to produce equipment with higher operating efficiencies and structural reliability suitable for the application.en
