"The building was designed by the college architect-R. Adelsperger, who insisted that building could be constructed for $100,000.00. However, in two requests the bids returned each time exceeded this amount. The Board of Directors of the College thereupon turned the matter over to Endress and Watkin who left the design of the building as it was and merely decreased the overall dimensions. The result was that the building was put up to be sure, but since the plumbing outlets in the floor were not relocated to fit the new dimensions of the building it caused a lot of trouble and expense to place the Laboratory tables which had been made to order to fit the original dimensions. A number of them could not be connected at all."
