On July 07, 1972 the College of Veterinary Medicine held their annual celebration honoring the academic achievements of their undergraduate students. This Honors Convocation took place at the Memorial Student Center, on the Texas A&M University campus starting at 7:30pm. Master of Ceremonies was Jim Rundell. Invocation was given by Mike Heitmann, and the Welcome and Introductions by Dean Alvin A. Price. Images 0216- 0239 are accompanied with a program for the event. This Program describes twenty different awards that were given out during this event. On the back page, at the bottom, the Veterinarian's Oath is printed. Each picture in this group of images will have a seperate description about the award given to the indivdual('s) in that image.
Description
Dean A. A. Price on the left, presents the Norden Teacher Award to Dr. Floron C. Faries, Jr. for his outstanding teaching ability as judged by the responsiveness of his students and on his moral character and leadership. This award given by Norden Laboratories, Inc. Honors a selected member of the faculty. Dr. Faries was an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery during the time of this event. Writing on the photo or group of photos: 'NORDEN TEACHER AWARD: A $200 cash award and plaque presented to a selected member of the faculty for outstanding teaching ability as judged by responsiveness of his students and on his moral character and leadership.
