| dc.description.abstract | Blanche No More: Voice, Letter, Agency seeks to locate, examine and trace the role of the author in culture. The subject of Authorship is one that is seemingly endless, therefore, Blanch No More: Voice, Letter, Agency will discuss ancient, medieval and modern views of authorship. The project will take a general view of the physical development of language and writing as well as examining the mythological development via the myth of Cadmus. Then Chaucer's Book of the Duchess will be examined and compared with medieval theories on authorship. Finally, current theories, including feminist writings, will be discussed. The goal of this project is to illustrate the path towards authorship in a coherent and cohesive manner. | en |
