The Application of Engineering Technology to Developing Nations
Abstract
In preparing to assist a developing nation, both the foreign student and the foreign bound American student have special educational needs. A format is proposed with which such students can guide their own studies and plan for working in their particular field in another country. Using this scheme, the problem of designing adaptable waste-treatment systems for rural villages in Ecuador, South America is considered and four designs of such systems proposed.
