Abstract
Industrial boiler plants are an area of opportunity in virtually every industry to save energy and reduce costs by using relatively simple, inexpensive auditing procedures. An energy audit consists of inspection, measurement, analysis, and the preparation of recommendations. A complete boiler plant program will consider each individual boiler, boiler room auxiliary equipment, steam distribution and return systems, and steam end use equipment.
This paper summarizes the practical procedures, techniques, and instrumentation which Nabisco uses in its boiler plant energy conservation program.
