Abstract
Industrial power plants using fossil fuel to produce process steam and electrical energy must be operated at peak efficiency to minimize production costs. Monitoring the power plant operation sometimes takes second place to the primary process at the facility. This paper presents a method for effectively monitoring the power plant. Information is provided on the collection of pertinent power plant flow, pressure, and temperature data; calculation of performance parameters; and presentation of results.
