Girls Bed Room
DescriptionA girl's bedroom including a bed, night stand, chair, rocking chair, and dresser.
The bedroom of Willie Mae Lewis, Antioch Community, Route 3, Tatum, Texas. This room was made more comfortable and livable for $2.80, said amount being spent for four pairs of curtains, bed spread, two runners, dye for rugs, and one pillow, made from unbleached muslin and fast colored calico used for applique design. The Lewis's nine-room house has four bedrooms for a family of mother, father, two boys, and three girls and was built in 1927.
Although some of the descriptions of photographs in this collection have been altered for clarity, a majority of the descriptions are transcribed verbatim from the back of the photographs and reflect the language of those times.
