dc.description.abstractWith energy prices skyrocketing since 2003, industries are driven to find ways to improve/optimize the way energy is utilized and are becoming more aware of the importance of efficiently managing their utilities systems. There are many types of industries, and they each operate differently, but all of them have the same goal; “reduce energy consumption” by finding and implementing energy conservation measures (ECMs). There are many ways by which a facility can reduce its energy intake. Some of the areas to focus include but are not limited to: • Steam and Condensate Systems • Compressed Air Systems • HVAC Systems • Heat Recovery from Waste Energy This paper focuses on an energy study performed at Converse College in 2005. The most financially attractive ECMs were implemented. The combination of the energy savings from the ECMs is expected to reduce the energy consumption by more than 50%.en
