Coping with Caregiving
Abstract
People who care for elderly relatives often ignore their own needs. This publication offers guidance to help caregivers maintain their own personal well-being while caring for an elderly relative. Topics include stress management, involving other family members, caregiving at a distance and placement in a care facility. Also included are two self-tests for diagnosing and managing stress, as well as a telephone prompter to guide the reader in contacting helpful resources in the community.
