AniManabi combines two of my greatest passions, architecture and anime. The building functions as an anime studio and learning center. Within the anime industry lay economic and societal challenges. More shows are being produced than ever and not enough animators are entering the industry to keep up with the demand. This is leading to more crunch and overwork in the industry. AniManabi facilitates collaboration between artists and animators from around the world to create anime that is funded by education and entertainment. The exhibitions and shows put on in the facility fund the anime projects, giving the studio more freedom and independence. AniManabi's design is inspired by animation frames. Program is interpreted as a frame of animation in either plan or elevation. Like in real animation, these building frames will also follow a logical sequence to create a cohesive story.
