Abstract
This study introduces a feminist ventriloquial discourse tracing method to explore how bodies become present with the development of sport organizational gender policies. Using the 2020 World Rugby Union Transgender Policy Guidelines as a rupture point, this study embarks on a relational ontology oriented investigation of the tensions between and among gender policies, gendered bodies, and the sport of rugby. The aim of this investigation is to provide insights to ongoing policy debates that can inform and inspire feminist futures. The findings for this dissertation provide implications for feminist scholars of organizational communication and sport, scholars seeking novel approaches to relational ontology methods, and sport organizations developing gender policies.
