Humanitarian Crisis on the Southwest Border
Description
This policy brief makes the case that border policies and laws in the United States have not kept up with changing immigration patterns. According to the policy brief, the number of apprehensions at the Southwest Border has actually decreased since 2000, but the steep rise in the number of families attempting to cross, the increase in credible fear claims, and the lack of functional laws and resources, are all contributing to a growing humanitarian crisis at the Southwest Border. The author urges the US Congress to pass long overdue immigration reform and readers to contact their representatives.Department
