dc.description.abstractNicolas Werth is a prominent French historian, and an internationally known expert on communist studies, particularly the history of the Soviet Union. He is the son of Alexander Werth, a Russian-born British journalist and writer. Werth is a research director at the Institut d’histoire du temps présent (fr), affiliate to CNRS. He is currently researching and writing a book based on new archival evidence of the Ukranian Famine.en
