Description(Color) This card depicts a soldier with his sword riding a black horse. Behind him are images of a battle and flames and (presumably) his mother. The stamp is green, British and cost halfpenny. The card is postmarked Shorncliffe and Folkstone at 8:50 P.M.on November 23, 1914. The postcard was sent to "My Dear Ma," Mrs. Lee, from Gerald.
This collection previously belonged to Dominic Hibberd, an English biographer most noted for the biographies of Wilfred Owen and Harold Monro, World War I poets. He collected these postcards for research purposes.
