The Sustainable Building-Accelerator
MetadataShow full item record
A method and a tool have been developed to assist the designers from the beginning of the design phase. The costs and benefits for different design options are calculated using Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and are presented in an insightful way to the stakeholders. Traditionally these calculations are only made by cost specialists at the end of the design phase, only quantifying a few design options in detail, instead of using these calculations in the early design stages to generate optimal design solutions. The ''Sustainable Building - Accelerator'' supports stakeholders to decide on sustainable solutions by giving them cost and benefit information of design solutions. This information provides them with valuable input to create their sound business cases. This article describes the concept and illustrates the added value of the ''Sustainable Building - Accelerator''.
