Abstract
This paper presents the Energy Management Program and activities developed by Corporate Engineering, Maintenance Administrators, and Plant Engineering at Western Electric Company in Richmond, Virginia. This paper will describe the background of the company; the definition of the company's physical plant; problems that have been encountered; solutions to some of the problems; the status of the solutions; other action implemented, being implemented, and going to be implemented; and some of the results of energy control in general. It will show that energy conservation can be implemented in a large manufacturing plant if an effective energy management program is installed.
