Abstract
ConAgra Foods, Inc. is a diversified international food company. ConAgra operating companies work interdependently across the food chain with 82,000 employees in 35 countries around the world. Sustainable development is a vital ConAgra business strategy which builds our business while preserving our natural resources. ConAgra Beef has been heavily involved in sustainable development efforts since the formal process was implemented in 1995. Throughout the beef processing operation, there are numerous by-products which are sold as marketable commodities. With the changing energy marketplace, ConAgra Beef is constantly evaluating energy conservation opportunities and reducing our dependence on natural resources by using byproducts as potential fuel sources.
