Design for Increasing Ecological Resilience: A Levee Green Space Design for the City of Wharton

Abstract

This booklet presents "Levee Green Space Design in the City of Wharton, Texas," as a ripple effect from design concepts developed by Master of Landscape Architecture students. The project proposes a levee green space along the bank of the Colorado River in the City of Wharton, located about 50 miles southwest of Houston, based on the flood control system. It includes recreational open spaces and flood mitigation facilities to improve ecological and social resilience, stimulate local businesses, and improve quality of life.
