Abstract
"This Flight Couch and my Flight Log are in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. All of these photos were made at Cape Canaveral prior to Alan Shepard’s flight. Note that I have used all capital letters in the name “HAM”. He was originally named “Chang” for one of the guys in the lab; everyone got a Chimp named after them! The Powers-in-Charge did not think that name would be appropriate, so it was changed to “HAM” for Holloman AeroMed!" -Dr. William E. Britz
