dc.description.abstract | Energy Management and Conservation have become mutually inclusive in operation of today's petrochemical plants. This presentation shows how the efficient conversion and distribution of energy and the efficient energy utilization by the various operating departments are integrated to improve productivity with substantial overall financial benefit. The systems described include: use of computer programs for load balancing, selection of economic alternatives, and off-line evaluation of production planning economics, open loop computer control of multi-department energy variables, and closed loop computer optimization of plantwide energy variables. Results indicate a ten to fifteen percent energy productivity improvement can be expected. | en |
