The parthenocarpic trait in the little leaf cucumber was determined to be inherited by an incompletely dominant gene (P) . The early parthenocarpic class, genotype PP, generally produces five or more fruit beginning by the sixth node. Fewer fruits and later fruiting was observed for the intermediate parthenocarpic class, genotype Pp. This second phenotypic class was generally characterized by having less than six fruit and fruiting after the sixth node. The last phenotypic class, the weak parthenocarpic class, produced up to three fruit and did not fruit until the 10th node or later. The genotype for the weak parthenocarpic class was pp.en
