According to the Spring-Summer issue of "News from AggieLand" in 1995; faculty and staff of the College's small animal hospital submitted the design for surgical facilites at the new Austin and Travis County Humane Society. It included a prep room, small pharmacy, scrub room, a recovery room and a surgical area with five tables. Through an agreement with this and other local Humane Societies, fourth-year students could gain experience with hands on neutering and spayings and also help the community.en
