Abstract
"A Tale of Two High Schools" presents a timeline of the desegregation of Bryan ISD and particularly the two high schools, E. A. Kemp and Stephen F. Austin. Sources are interviews, newspaper articles, the Brazos Valley African American Museum and annuals from both of the high schools.
Description
This presentation was created for a project assigned during Spring 2021 for the Texas A&M University course, HIST 489: Black Lives Matter at Texas A&M, in Texas, & the World. This course was taught by Dr. Cynthia A. Bouton. Students in this class examined the historical record, identified and researched critical issues, and created projects demonstrating the relationship between past and present.
