Abstract
Since the magnitude of herbivory on sea grass varies significantly among and within species, its importance in sea grass production is controversial. This article examines leaf herbivory in four temperate and five tropical sea grass environments to assess the extent of this variability and relate it to differences in leaf specific growth rate. Data on leaf production, leaf removal per shoot, and area leaf removal are included.
