Abstract
Resilient information networks guarantee service continuity to end applications through failures in the compute and communication substrates. These end applications are the collective output of numerous automatons, each of which performs some elementary operations towards generating useful computational products. To achieve resilience, automatons forming such information pathways must be orchestrated on the resource substrate, including the ability to dynamically overcome various stresses in resources while ensuring service continuity to end applications. We present a platform architecture and algorithms that achieves this goal. We develop a simulation environment in which the algorithm is tested. We then integrate our orchestration framework into ResilientWare,
a resilient information network middleware. We demonstrate the orchestration of information pathways on a physical testbed running ResilientWare to illustrate the value of our platform.
