Abstract

The goal of this research is to establish a well-rounded documentation of the history, technique, and critical evaluation of the cinematic title sequence. A list of noteworthy title sequences was compiled from previous critiques of well-respected designers and expert researchers of film and graphic design. From this list, the films were analyzed and categorized into three subjects: historic, technical, and method of introduction. A creative title sequence project was produced from the methods gained investigating the history and technique of these films as well as a multimedia version of this research.
