Abstract
Heist Engineering is comparing the
economics of separations processes as
part of current programs with the US
Department of Energy, the Electric power
Research Institute, and industrial
clients. The initial results of this
work are presented here as costs for the
various processes operating in the range
of 10 to 10,000 gpm. Capital, O&M and
energy costs are shown separately to
permit the reader to make comparisons
with other estimates using the economic
assumptions he or she prefers.
Additional details are provided for
freeze crystallization processes,
including system characteristics,
economics, and applications examples.
