Abstract
This thesis analyzes how undergraduates in the Corps of Cadets program at Texas A&M University manage their emotions within the boundaries established by the organization. Research in this area tends to focus on emotions in organizations, or military practices, and not the overlap of the two sections. To understand emotion management in a military system interviews were conducted with 25 undergraduate students, analysis of these interviews showed that students were well aware of the restrictions placed on their emotions, and most were comfortable within these restrictions. Students varied in the strategies they used to properly show or hide their emotions. Special attention is given to divisions among class levels, interest groups, and gender.
