Abstract

A Presentation to the Panamerican Federation of Colleges of Veterinary Medicine. Given in June of 1993, by John A. Shadduck, Dean and John R. August, Head of the Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. The National Autonomous University of Mexico's School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry or UNAM, an accredited member of the AVMA Council on Education (COE) since March of 2011; is only one of 44 veterinary schools and colleges in Mexico that make up the Panamerican Federation of Colleges of Veterinary Medicine. In 1994, Mexico joined the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and became the catalyst for increased collaborations between the Mexican veterinary profession and the United States veterinary educators.
