Abstract
Purpose [line break] The purpose of this research was to appraise the teaching materials developed by the Teaching Materials Center at Texas A&M University for Vocational Agriculture I in Texas in order to determine if a need existed for possible revision of the materials developed and to establish criteria on which to base the development of materials in the future. The following specific objectives were formulated to accomplish this purpose. 1. To determine the level at which teachers would rate the quality of various developed. 2. To determine if selected factors (tenure as a teacher of vocational agriculture, student enrollment in Vocational Agriculture I, and Supervisory Area of State) are associated with ratings by teachers. 3. To formulate a list of recommendations for the possible revision of Vocational Agriculture I materials and for the development of materials in the future. A questionnaire was used to obtain teachers' opinions about filing, ratings of quality, and suggestions for improvement of the materials. Data were analyzed by the product moment correlation. The three variables in the study were tenure, class size and Supervisory Area of State. The association between each variable and teacher' ratings for each subject matter area was presented. ...
