This research presents an interpretation of palynological and macrobotanical data to determine room function for specific rooms in the NAN Ranch Ruin occupied from A.D. 750 to 1150 in southern New Mexico. The presence of Cheno-Am anthers in all rooms which yielded 200 grain counts implied that Cheno-Am flowers were introduced into these rooms and therefore were a significant part of the subsistence pattern from Late Pithouse through Late Classic Periods. Additional insight into unusual activities occurring in various rooms at the NAN Ranch Ruin is also discussed.en
