The Truck Receiving Dock 66 at the General Motors Fisher Body Division Plant in Euclid, Ohio had always been a source of constant employee complaints during the heating season. Despite management's efforts to maintain as uniform a temperature as possible, the employees were either too hot or too cold depending on the amount of traffic that day. Modification of the existing system was eliminated due to the age and condition of the heaters plus trying to improve an oversized system would not provide as efficient a system as possible. The investigation of alternate heating systems led to gas fired infra red heaters. This paper addresses the results from the installation of such heaters.en
