PL03 - Realistic Expectations from a Unique Plan 66A Bushing Design
Abstract
The 66A dual bushing arrangement is used to provide leak detection on crude oil pipeline pumps. Here the effectiveness of the arrangement in detecting seal leakage and providing leakage containment are examined through laboratory testing. The pressure signal as a function of bushing flow is measured and evaluated in order to assess its value as an indicator into seal performance.
