dc.description.abstractDr. Bonnie Beaver was the first woman to join the faculty of the College of Veterinary Medicine. She accepted a position in the Department of Veterinary Medical Surgery and Radiology in 1969. Over her career she has made a name for herself as a leading well published Animal Behaviorist. She has been passionate about teaching veterinary students and promoting the profession. Her education consists of B.S. Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota 1966; D.V.M. Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota 1968; M.S. Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, Texas A&M University 1972; DSc (hon), University of Guelph 2015. Her scholarly interests are; normal and abnormal domestic animal behavior, human-animal interrelationships, and animal welfare.en
