Item Recommendations to the Catholic Church on Its Current and Future Engagement with the Digital Environment(Digital Religion Publications, 2025) Heidi A Campbell, editorThis eBook is a collection of essays written by students in the Spring 2025 COMM 480: Religious Communication course who were asked to write a two- to three-page analytical essay examining the Catholic Church's evolving engagement with digital and social media. Students selected one of the questions assigned to the Scholar and Pastoral Scholar study group, a group gathered by the Dicastery of Communication to help the Catholic Church think through its view on the Church's use of digital and AI technology. each designed to prompt a nuanced exploration of the Church's adaptation to the digital environment. This assignment aimed to cultivate critical thinking and scholarly analysis regarding how religious communities' beliefs and policies inform their theological views about media technologies.
