It was renamed the Texas Clipper II when it was acquired by Texas A&M at Galveston in 1996. The ship was replaced in 2005. It served at the summer training cruise ship for the Texas Maritime Academy and visited ports in places such as Mexico, the Caribbean, and Ports around the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts.
